Our Story
Naudé Wines is the culmination of more than 30 years of winemaking experience and a lifelong pursuit of wines that express a true sense of place. Founded by Ian Naudé, the focus is on crafting premium South African wines from exceptional vineyards across the Western Cape, many of them certified Old Vine sites with decades of history rooted in South African soil.
Our Philosophy
Our philosophy is simple: great wine begins in the vineyard. South Africa's remarkable diversity of soils, climates and vineyard locations allows each site to tell its own story. From coastal Colombard vineyards near the Atlantic Ocean to heritage Chenin Blanc, Cinsault and old vine red blend components, every vineyard contributes a unique expression of terroir.
Minimal intervention winemaking is central to our approach. By allowing the vineyard character to shine through with as little manipulation as possible, we preserve the natural flavours, freshness and intensity that make each wine distinctive. This results in wines that are vibrant, balanced and reflective of their origin rather than dominated by winemaking techniques.
Why Old Vines matter
Many wine lovers ask what makes old vine wines from the Western Cape so special. Older vines naturally produce smaller yields, creating grapes with greater concentration, complexity and depth. Combined with South Africa's unique terroir, these vineyards produce wines that are both expressive and age-worthy.
Our collection spans exceptional Chenin Blanc, coastal Colombard, elegant Cinsault, and other old vine reds and whites — each one an authentic expression of where it's grown, not a copy of a style from somewhere else.

Shaped by Nature, Vintage to Vintage
Each vintage is shaped by nature. The grapes are storied, complex and unique, and every harvest brings something different. As Ian often says, "My goal is simply not to get in the way."
Through thoughtful vineyard selection, minimal intervention winemaking and a deep respect for terroir, Naudé Wines continues to showcase some of South Africa's most distinctive old vine wines from the Western Cape.
