The maiden release of Oupa Willem — an 80% Cinsault, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon blend drawing on Darling bush-vine fruit paired with Western Cape Cabernet Sauvignon. Named for Ian Naudé's grandfather, it pays tribute to the classic Cinsault-Cabernet blends of the 1950s and '60s that once defined South African winemaking, reimagined through a cooler, more linear modern lens.
The 2018 announced the arrival of something special: Master of Wine Greg Sherwood scored it 96 points, calling it a wine that "represents a new pinnacle of quality" for Naudé Family Wines, and it went on to earn 5 Stars in the Platter's South African Wine Guide 2020 and 93 points from Neal Martin.
Built to age, it's a wine equally suited to drinking now or cellaring for decades.
