Semillon is one of Naudé Wines' signature old-vine varietals, alongside Chenin Blanc, Colombard, and Cinsault. The 2016 vintage, sourced from old-vine fruit around Durbanville and Stellenbosch, captures the grape at a precise moment of ripeness — green apple, white peach and orange blossom on the nose, opening into a broad, glycerol-rich palate of lime cordial, citrus blossom and a whisper of vanilla spice.

Master of Wine Greg Sherwood scored the 2016 at 95 points, praising its rare combination of Semillon's classic intensity and linearity with the palate weight more often associated with fine Chardonnay — naming it among the best examples of the variety on the South African market at the time. Built to last, it's a wine intended to be enjoyed from release through 20+ years in bottle.
