The NAUDÉ White Blend has been making waves recently, so we decided to show off each vintage from 2006-2010 in a series of tasting events.
Each vintage of the blend is made up of the same three varietals – Semillon, Chenin Blanc and Sauvignon Blanc – but in varied quantities depending on the vintage. All wines exhibit great freshness and their characteristic complexity, but that’s where the similarities end.
The first thing that struck all involved was the diversity from one wine to the next. This is perhaps unsurprising considering that the composition of these wines differed greatly from one year to the next.
The second remarkable thing was how impossibly fresh all of these wines remain. They are all under screw cap, with anything from 8 to 12 years of bottle age. Time has taken the edge off and completed the wines, but they show no sign of decline. In fact, quite the opposite.
If you’re looking for a wine that tastes the same each vintage, then look away now. But if you’re looking for something that represents the conditions in which they were grown, then these are for you. There are a limited number of bottles from each vintage remaining, and this makes up the Limited Edition Box off all five vintages.
